It was "Churro Night" so we had a free order of churros (spent $50).
I always get chiles rellenos (they call them chiles poblanos here - their chiles rellenos are meat-filled) and they were very good.my husband had the enchiladas supreme (4 different types) and there wasn't a crumb left on his plate. Seems it's a typical Americanized joint but with somewhat authentic food. I am pretty fussy about mexican food.I don't want On the Border corporate inedibility, and I also don't want the Chipotle-style black bean and brown rice healthy alternative. nada (well, there was the one we were looking for which friends had eaten at the night before, but upon seeing it, we decided against it - it was basically attached to motels and there wasn't even parking except for motel guests, which our friends had been). Believe me, we started in Clifton Park and all the way down Route 9 and through Loudonville we found a dearth of them. We were driving around the area looking for a Mexican restaurant and finding - not much. Like I said, they were really busy and it may just be the kitchen was overwhelmed. My wife inquired, "well, where's the 'lava'? Theres supposed to be hot chocolate syrup on it, right?" The waitress looked perplexed. We asked the waitress about it but she insisted it was the lava cake. It looked like a small chocolate hostess cupcake, cold, turned upside down but without the chocolate frosting and without the cream filling. Well, she brought out the desert but it was not a lava cake, at least not like I've ever seen.

She returned with the tacos but I was pretty full by this point and only ate the one, and asked for a box and the desert menu. She assured me that I was and she went back to the kitchen. She came over and I asked if I was still going to get the Birria tacos. After about 15 minutes, my Birria tacos still weren't brought over. She acknowledged the mistake and took away the incorrect taco plate. We requested the waitress and told her about my Birria Tacos'. They were plain tacos with shrimp, beef and chicken. The Chile Colorado was perfect as well as my wifes Birria Tacos and our friends dish. In about 10 more minutes the entrees came out. After about 10 minutes, the 2 guac's came out and the cheese deep, but the 'tableside' guac's were in tiny little tortilla shells, not the big stone vessels that we received on the prior visit. We told her, "Two tableside guacamoles, one cheese dip with Chorizo, One Chile Colorado, Two Birria Taco orders and then what our friend ordered (don't remember the name). Shortly, she returned and asked for our requests. Our waitress, extremely nice and attentive, took our drink orders and left to get that. The place was packed and staff were running around, hustling to get everyones orders.
arrived at our resevations stated time and were promptly seated. So when my wife said we were going again this past weekend, I was elated. The experience was fantastic and I raved about it on our 'foodies' Facebook page. My wife, our friend and myself went to MC about a month or two ago.
